ACTIVISM CAMPAIGNS

RDOC intends to help the California Fair Elections Campaign educate Californian voters about AB 583.  This bill, signed into law by Governor Schwarzenegger, will allow the California Fair Elections Act to be on the ballot in June 2010.  This sounds like a long time away, but we have a big job ahead of us.  We must convince a majority of Californians to vote for clean campaign financing for the California Secretary of State.  Once they see how well that works, we think they will love it so much that they will want more campaigns to be run on clean money.  This is our small window of opportunity!  It's our "foot in the door," "the camel's nose under the tent flap."  Last time around, some good folks got Proposition 89 on the ballot on short notice.  We only had a few months to reach out to explain it to people, and we were up against big money.  We lost that round.  This time, we have a fair amount of time, so we must use it wisely.
